Western High School sees summer improvements

reecedunker

WHILE NOTHING is being added or subtracted from the library, there have been smaller projects taking place to rearrange the room. This includes moving the bookshelves to allow for more space. Though not pictured, when the room is complete tables will be added so that students have a space to work from. Previously, computers lined the back wall taking up unnecessary space. Those computers have long since been moved, freeing up loads of space.

THE BREEZEWAY, which was once filled with grass, rocks, shrubbery, and more, has now been transformed into a fully concrete pad. One of the most popular amenities among Western High School students, it allows for easy passage from the art classroom to the high school gym. Over time the breezeway became tougher to maintain, ultimately leading to the decision to make it all concrete. Students will still be able to use it and the plan is for it to be totally functional by the first day of school.

PAINTING THE WALLS of the high school boy’s locker room has long been at the top of the to do list. To accomplish this, maintenance workers first had to remove all the lockers and scrape off what was left of the old paint. Once that was done, they were then able to paint the walls. They plan to reinstall the lockers at the beginning oof the week, with time to spare before the first day oof school.
