About Me
Hello, my name is Reece Dunker and I'm a senior at the University of Kansas. I'm majoring in Journalism and minoring in Sport Management. My hometown is Barry, Illinois, a small town in rural Western Illinois. Talking and writing about sports has been my passion for as long as I can remember.

Growing up, I've had a great mother, Dorinda, and father, Kory. I also have a younger sister, Aubree, who has supported me the entire way, even if we have our disagreements.

I started playing baseball and basketball at the age of six and continued to play all the way through high school. I always knew I wasn't going to play sports collegiately, which made me think about how I could stay involved from the sidelines.

On a chilly November day in 2007, I watched Illinois roll into Columbus and beat then #1 Ohio State. And after that day, my passion for sports commentary and writing was born.

Throughout high school, I was always able to say what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go to school. That of course being a sports journalist and attending the University of Kansas.

My experience at KU has been nothing short of amazing, ever since I stepped foot on campus. I've gotten the opportunity to learn from what I think are some of the best professors in the world.

At KU, I've been lucky enough to be involved with Media Crossroads and getting comfortable on camera. I've also had the opportunity to write for Marlins Maniac and do a lot of personal pieces.
