MATTHEW GROSSMAN prepares to release the ball in top of the first inning during the July 6 action between Lister-Forshey and the Nazarene Church. The game was never too close as Lister-Forshey jumped out ahead from the start and with a solid defensive effort, kept the Nazarene Church in tack, only allowing a single run. Both teams will compete in the tournament, starting on July 10.

JEREMY WARD (r) takes a monstrous hack at the ball, while umpire Dave Forshey (l) judges the pitch. Ward would end up driving this ball all the way to the warning track, where the left fielder was waiting for it. The ball couldn’t have been hit much better, but unfortunately for Ward, his opponents were well aware of his power. Lister-Forshey would come away with an 16-1 victory over the Nazarene Church, with the game being called after four innings.

NOLAN DANIEL races in from right center, trying to catch a shallow pop up during the second of two games on July 6. While Daniel was unable to come up with the ball, he made a quick recovery, picking the ball up and getting it back to the infield to prevent further damage. Daniel plays for Assembly of God, who was up against The Crossing in that game. Assembly of God would come out victorious 18-13.
