JOSH DEAN hauls in an infield popup in the July 12 matchup between Reinhardt and the Nazarene Church. The game was to decide who would be crowned third in the slow pitch softball league at Pittsfield Lake. Dean played a phenomenal shortstop, knocking down and catching every ball that came his way. Along with being a defensive stalwart, he provided a consistent big bat in the middle of the lineup.

LOGAN SMITH trots to first after being walked during the third-place game. Another way co-ed slow pitch softball is different from normal softball is that when a man is walked, the girl that follows him in the lineup is given a free pass. This makes sure teams don’t purposely walk the men and are forced to pitch them. Of course, the girl can always decline the free base and hit for themselves.

LIAM DAVIDSMEYER beats out the throw, resulting in an infield single for him. His infield hit came in the bottom of the sixth as the Nazarene Church tried to erase a 14-8 deficit. They were able to get it down to 14-11 before the rally hopes came up short. Meaning Reinhardt would come out victorious in the third-place game.

JIMMY WATERS releases the pitch during the championship game. Lister-Forshey took on TRUX in the championship game in what was a matchup between the two best team of the regular season. The game was marred in controversy as a TRUX runner was called out for verbal obstruction, a rule that is often called in slow pitch softball. While TRUX disagreed, the rule is clearly highlighted in the rulebook.

JEREMY WARD is unable to come up with the ball at the first, in what would lead to a rally for TRUX. While the throw was low from Mike Woodward at shortstop was low, Ward still felt as if he should have been able to pick it. This mistake would turn out to not prove costly as Lister-Forshey was able to hold on for a 13-9 victory.
